MagicJack.com will give you one of these completely free of charge you just have to verify your Credit Card. Basically you get this little Usb jack thing that has a phone jack on the back of it. You plug your phone into and POOF you got a phone line with your own voice mail, Caller Id.
I paid $29 or $39 dollars for mine at Radio Shack this is definitely a great investment specially if you are doing surveys and want your own personal number so telemarketers wont mess with you. And the great thing about it once you get it the thing is good for over a year! For that low of a price you cant beat that for phone service.
Best of all is you don't have to install anything you just plug it in your computer and you got a dial tone as long as your computer has internet access. The only bummer about it is you have to leave your computer turned on with internet access to have this thing work or it will send every one to your voice mail.
